FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I’m a member, do I get discounted tickets?
Afterglow is a brand new event for 2024 and members will be able to attend for free. There’s no need to book right now, we’ll be in touch nearer the time to let you know how to secure your date.
There will be plenty of availability so please don’t worry if your friends or family have already made a standard booking.
What are the parking arrangements?Â
There is ample FREE parking at the main entrance to the zoo.
What is the best way to get to Chester Zoo?
You can find all the directions and transport options to the zoo here.
What are the opening and closing times for this event?
Afterglow will start at 3pm and finish at 8pm. Last entry is 7pm and animal houses will close at 7:30pm.
Islands may also close before 8pm.
If you wish to visit the zoo during the day too, please ensure you have bought a separate zoo admission ticket, or you have a valid member’s card – your Afterglow ticket will only grant access for the evening.
Do I have to book a time slot?
Afterglow does not operate on a time slot basis. Your ticket will allow you entry into the event from 3pm onwards. Please note, final entry will be at 7pm for event.

Ticket prices will vary according the date you choose to book.
Afterglow adult: £20.00 – £23.00
Afterglow child (3-15 years): £13.00 – £15.00
Afterglow toddler (1-2 years): £2.50
Afterglow infant (under 12 months): Free

Carers come free, but please remember to book them a ticket. If you’re visiting with a free carer please bring proof of entitlement with you when you visit. This can be a PIP Letter or Blue Badge. Thanks!
How will I receive tickets?
If you book online then you’ll receive an email from us with your booking confirmation attached. Bring this booking confirmation with you on the evening of your visit to get entry to the zoo for Afterglow.
Can I bring my own food?
We’ll have lots of tasty food and drink options available to buy throughout the evening but you are more than welcome to bring your own if you would prefer to.
We just ask that you don’t bring any alcohol to the zoo with you.
Will there be any adult-only evenings?Â
There will not be any adult-only evenings at Afterglow. The whole family is welcome to come along and enjoy the festivities any day you choose to visit.
